Annual and spring meeting 2025 completed
On May 20, Selcable had its spring & annual meeting with a good turnout at Teknikföretagen.
During the day we had valuable workshops about what and how we should work in our focus groups. There were a lot of discussions and valuable ideas came up.
As an external speaker, we got to listen to Jörgen Holmlund, a teacher of intelligence at the Swedish National Defense University. He talked about Security in times of uncertainty – geopolitical threats and the protection of critical infrastructure. Something that is close to our hearts, of course.
At the annual meeting, Sara Jonsson, Hexatronic Cables & interconnect Systems AB, was elected to the board. We asked her to answer a few questions!
Welcome to the board, what do you hope to contribute?
– It's great to have this opportunity to be part of Selcable's board. I'm quite new to the industry with my 4 years at Hexatronic and the cable world. But my area, which is sustainability and quality, is becoming increasingly important and growing every day – and with my role as sustainability manager, it's mainly where I can be involved and contribute with expertise and the work going forward.
How can Selcable become even more relevant in a rapidly changing industry?
– The most important thing is to be responsive and that we cooperate to be able to jointly act on what is happening in the outside world, and the market, on issues that affect us. Then that we prioritize the activities that create benefit and value for many.
How can the association become more visible and influence decision-makers and authorities on industry issues?
– Information flow, visibility and outreach are constant efforts – it is important to be active on the platforms where the industry is represented. It is also important to build relationships with decision-makers who influence us and collaborate with other actors in our field. Take ownership of social issues where we can participate and influence, and very concretely – use social media in a thoughtful way – both for the purpose of enlightening, informing and influencing.
