Selcable is the trade association for Swedish manufacturers of cables and insulated wire. Our mission is to promote the common interests of the cable industry by presenting our collective view on standardization issues, referrals and government matters. Selcable represents the Swedish manufacturers in the European organization Europacable.
Cable infrastructure is a basic premise for electrification and digitization
The cable is a invisible but critical part of social infrastructure. Electrification of society requires Extensive investments in power grid and infrastructure. Cables is a central part of this development and enables transfer of electricity, data and communication in whole society. Cables is a prerequisite for electricity supply, digital communication and working community services. Without cable infrastructure works neither energy system, telecommunication or digital services.
A strong Swedish cable industry strengthens both competitiveness and community preparedness
Access to competence and production in Europe and Sweden is important for to ensure robust supply chains and a sure energy infrastructure. Socially critical infrastructure, resilience.

Overall goals
Selcable works for the competitiveness of Swedish cable manufacturers, business conditions and the common interests of the industry. Selcable provides the Swedish market for the manufacture, distribution and sale of cables with information and reference points regarding prices for copper and aluminum and return drums. In addition, we provide a well-functioning return system for cable drums.
We work to:
- Make visible the good quality, high level of safety and good sustainability aspects of Swedish-made cables for both people, the environment and materials
- Be an obvious dialogue partner on current industry issues for authorities, media and decision-makers
- Make visible the challenges regarding the expansion of electricity and communication networks and the maintenance of existing ones in the work on Sweden's green transition and increased needs.
Membership criteria
The board can accept as members of SELCABLE companies that manufacture insulated cable or wire in Sweden and are prepared to actively work to develop the industry.
Of course, our members stand behind and comply with our statutes and code of conduct.
