New IEA report

The IEA recently published the report "Building the Future Transmission Grid - Strategies to navigate supply chain challenges".

Europacable had the opportunity to contribute to the report, which once again focuses on the need to expand electricity networks to ensure secure, affordable and sustainable energy systems.

The report provides insights into how increasing infrastructure needs are impacting component prices, lead times and related market dynamics. The report is based on a 2024 survey of industry stakeholders by the International Energy Agency (IEA).

Building on the Electricity Grids and Secure Energy Transitions analysis, the report identifies strategies for addressing challenges related to the grid infrastructure supply chain. It highlights growing supply chain constraints, the need for long-term procurement mechanisms, and the importance of coordinated planning to ensure rapid infrastructure development.
